Southern Patagonia Birding and wildlife

Description

THE PATAGONIAN STEPPE
Wind, dryness and a vast dry plateau that is sparsely populated but boasting fascinating nature is the backdrop for travelers to marvel at when coming to the Patagonian steppe. The wildlife in this region is similar to that in the high mountains. Vegetation grows low and stunted, with bushes such as the neneo shrub and tough coirones grasses.

THE PATAGONIAN FOREST
Snow-capped mountains reflected on lakes of bluish and greenish hues, framed by extensive forests of coihues, lengas, alerces, canelos, arrayanes, pehuenes and sour cherry trees; this is the unmistakable mark of one of the most spectacular and best preserved regions in Argentina.

THE ATLANTIC COASTLINE, SOUTHERN SEAS
Having made a name for themselves many years ago as world-class tourist spots, the colonies of penguins, terns, seagulls and cormorants, and the sea lion and sea elephant rookeries are guaranteed to draw the attraction of visitors along Patagonian coastlines.
