Suggested clothing and equipment:

Hiking boots or stout walking shoes, sun hat and warm hat, gloves, clothing for warm days and cold nights. Please remind that being close to the Andes might result in cold nights and sudden changes of temperature.

Sunglasses, sunblock (or sunscreen) lotion, lip balm, towel, binoculars and flashlight. 

Some popular species you can see in the Andean Region are:

In many marshes and lagoons at the Malarague River area visitors may watch flamingos, swans, different kind of ducks, etc. In season other wildlife in this area are otters, vizcachas and tinamous.

Typical of this region are also the following species: Harpy Eagle, Burrowing Parakeet, Hoatzin, Cock of the rock, American Kestrel, Andean Condor, Striated Heron and Horned Screamer  among hundreds of others, many of which are endemic species.

Many species do not leave their habitat during the whole year due to rather mild temperatures and abundance of food.
