Buenos Aires & Pampa Fishing Talk

Pesca con Mosca

Sea fishing at the extensive Atlantic Ocean Coast of Buenos Aires Province is a very good option to enjoy some angling and bait fishing all year round.

Mar del Plata is the destination of choice for doing it. Being both a domestic and international tourist destination, Mar del Plata offers a wide range of lodging options and services for visitors. Fully equipped fishing boats depart daily from its port.

We would like to suggest you to also take a short tour to enjoy the views of beautiful hills and crop fields by the areas surrounding the city. And after that you might like to feast over the best steaks and sea food in the country along with a world famous Argentinean Malbec or Torrontes ... or any other superb Argentine wine !

South Atlantic species

All year round large specimens of Brazilian Sandperch,  Wreckfish and Argentine Seabass can be fished, as well as smaller size species like Sea Trout,  Red Progy, Silver Side, Blue Fish and Croaker.

In season (March and April) two of the most combative species at the South Atlantic Ocean can be fished: Yellowtail Amberjack and Atlantic Bonito or Bloater.

Description

Those visiting Argentina with a mind to enjoy some fly fishing in Atlantic Ocean waters will get the chance to do so along the vast coastline of the Pampas region.

The city of Mar del Plata is the ideal destination for this activity. It concentrates the greatest volume of local tourism in Argentina, and offers all sorts of services, such as modern, fully-equipped vessels for sport fishing that sail from its port every day.

Brazilian sandperch, Argentine seabass and wreckfish of huge proportions can be caught the year round, in addition to an endless number of smaller species, such as weakfish, red porgy, silver side, anchovy and corb, among others. During March and April, yellowtail amberjacks and little tunnies, two of the feistiest species in Argentine seas, make their appearance.

We suggest that you make the most of your stay at Mar del Plata and see the natural sights of the city's surroundings and enjoy its cuisine, which combines delicious seafood dishes with beef from the Pampa, paired with the best of wines.
