Population
Almost 50% of the near 40 million inhabitants of the extensive Argentine territory live in Buenos Aires area and the namesake province. Its population density is 13 inhabitants per km2, with regions like the Patagonia decreasing to 2 persons per km2.
95% of Argentines are of European descent, mainly Italian and Spanish, and the pure indigenous population represent only 0.5% its total.
Tourism - A privileged Sector.
Argentina displays a wide variety of touristic attractions with diverse landscapes and climate. The increasing tendency of receptive international tourism is now in a steady process of strong consolidation. According to the latest data, it is the third ranking industry to generate foreign currency income, surpassing cereal, beef and petroleum exports.
