Day 1
Reception at San Miguel de Tucuman Airport and transfer to the ranch. Departure to Potrero de Tablas for equipment / logistics and to enter the Rio Grande waters; continue using 4WD SUVs until arriving to La Hoyada rural school to reorganise equipment and use of mules for cargo. The journey starts into the Las Queñuas private Nature Reserve. In the area of San José de Chasquivil visitors can see protected flora and fauna with a great variety of birds, the mountain forests and the grasslands that the cattlemen use as a renewable resource. Arrival to the ranch. Lodging. Picada criolla (typical deli snacks) and welcome dinner.
Day 2
Breakfast at the lodge. Beginning of the journey on foot in the morning hours towards the high hills to see among other species of wildlife, birds like the Golden-winged Cacique, Hooded Siskin, Mourning Sierra-finch. Arrival to the mountain outpost. Birdwatching in the morning and afternoon. Lodging. During the day, birdwatching can be replaced by trout fishing in the mountain rivers.
Day 3
Breakfast at the lodge. Early morning departure to view the typical labors at the ranch and the beautiful landscape. Continue through the reserve to end the journey at the Hoyada outpost. Return by 4WD SUVs to San Miguel de Tucumán. Transfer to airport.
