Day 1
Reception at airport and transfer to hotel. Afternoon visit to the City of San Martin de los Andes and its parks. Talk on Bio-Geography. Due to its location, San Martin de los Andes, is the point at which three bio-geographical areas converge: The Andean-Patagonian Forest, the Patagonian Steppe and the Andean Steppe, each with its respective bird species. Tourists can observe over 100 species of birds without traveling over long distances.
Day 2
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the Rosales Lagoon, wetlands and ecotone forests. Some of the species that tourists can see are ducks, grebes, coots, swans, cormorants and gulls. Lunch in San Martin de los Andes. Afternoon visit to the hieghts of Mount Chapelco.
Day 3
Breakfast at the hotel. Full day excursion to the Patagonian Steppe in Collón Curá (heights and lowlands). Picnic on the Collón Curá River.
Day 4
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to the Andean-Patagonian forest in the Lanín National Park area. The diversity of birds is fewer than on the steppe, however there exist numerous families, typical of the sub-antarctic region, like the Chilean Pigeon, Patagonian Woodpecker and the Green-backed Firecrown. Picnic in Verde (Green) Lagoon, characterized by its low shores and extensive volcanic sand beaches. Excursion to the Andean-Patagonian forest: Lahuén Có Hot Springs.
Day 5
Breakfast at the hotel. Free morning for shopping in the city of San Martin de los Andes. Transfer to airport.
Nahuel Huapí Lake, Playa Bonita and Campanario Hill, regional architectural relics and Pañuelo Port.
Encantado Valley. Traful Lake viewpoint. Pine seedling nursery grounds. Chairlift to the summit of Bella Vista Hill...
Excursion along a mountain road surrounded by pellin and oak forests that framed the landscape.
