Throughout its 94,078, Neuquén is home to 241 species, belonging to 21 orders and 46 families. Neuquén is an area of special interest considering the characteristics of its resident species and diversity of vagrant and accidental species due to the location of the area in the heart of the southern cone and relative nearness to the ocean.
