Andes Region

Description

In this region, the Andes mountain range reaches its highest with the Aconcagua, the highest peak in the Western hemisphere.
At the foothills of this mountainous terrain with eternal snows lie fertile valleys suitable for growing grapes, used in wines from the Cuyo region, which are renowned worldwide.
On the other hand, the steppe plains hold the Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley) and Talampaya canyon, both listed as Natural Heritage sites by UNESCO. These places take us back to the era of dinosaurs, through one of the most important paleontological sites in the world, where it is also possible to marvel at a number of cave painting displays.
